6 days until 2nd grade starts

Tonight we go to meet Samantha's 2nd grade teacher. She is so excited to get back to school. To tell the truth, so am I. I love having the routine. It just seems to make things easier around here. Not that I am a stickler for routine, far from it. But I think it helps Samantha. She does good with routine. I'm hoping that I'll get more day shifts at work so that I will get up when she goes to school and stay up and then have a more normal life with her at night. Working dinner shifts is hard on me because when I get home, I can't go right to sleep, so then I stay awake until 2 or 3 in the morning and then I sleep all morning.

Now, here it is quarter after one in the afternoon and I'm still in pajamas, sitting at the computer watching a movie. I just don't have the get up and go to get up and do things with her. So she ends up watching tv all day too. So, we'll see after school starts if things will change.

I do love Netflix, I've been watching a lot of TV on DVD lately. I watched all of the Soprano's on DVD and I have season 1 - 9 of Friends. I am currently watching the 6th and final season of Sex and the City. I tell you between Netflix and Tivo, life doesn't get much better. LOL Other DVD sets that I own are, Seinfeld, The Apprentice and Gilmore Girls. My Netflix queue is very long though and it has a lot of TV series on it. My mom is loving Netflix too, she just watched the first season of Deadwood and has Stargate SG1 season 1 at the top of her queue. Some other shows we have queued are the 4400, Fat Actress and Six Feet Under.

I need to see if there are any good kid movies playing this weekend because Saturday after I work the day shift, I am watching one of my co-workers daughter because her husband has to work that night and her regular sitter has company for a wedding this weekend. I thought going to the movies would be a good thing. So I'll be looking that up.

I think I am just rambling now. So I'll post this and get on with my day.

I actually have blockbuster too, I signed up for it through mypoints, but they just raised their prices, so I think I am just going to stick with Netflix.

Samantha has always loved going to school. I teared up a little on the first day of Kindergarten and 1st grade, so I'm sure I'll do it again, but I love watching her be so independent.

Yeah, Netflix is also $17.99, but they used to be $21.99 and blockbuster started out less and went up, so they will lose me as a customer.

I originally started out with Netflix a couple of years ago and I've never had any problems with them. When we moved here to Missouri they had our DVDs shipping to and from St. Louis, but after a couple of weeks they switched to Kansas City and our turn around is much faster. When we lived in Colorado we had a 2 day turn around and if I mailed the DVD early enough in the day I would sometimes have a new movie the next day.
