Joi's random thoughts

My mind is popping with things to write, but I can't get them to my fingers.

I think this is why I never was able to keep a journal or diary going. I was always thinking of things to write in it, but never got to the actual writing portion. Tonight I'm sitting here after getting Samantha into bed and I've turned off the TV so I can focus. I tried to write earlier, but the TV was on, so I didn't get anything written. I did catch up on reading blogs though.

I wrote on Thursday last, so let me recap the weekend. Friday I worked and didn't have to close, so when I left work, one of my co-workers, Anthony and I went over to Matt's house and there was a party going on. Turned out to be about 10 or 12 people there, all from work. It was supposed to be a poker party, but no one was really interested in playing. So then it turned into a people watching party for me. I wasn't drinking because I had to be up in the morning to work. It was fun, we had the cream of the crop there of Applebee's people. I got home about 2:30 and Samantha was awake, but only long enough to say hi and ask me if I had to work past midnight.

Saturday morning was supposed to be my last training shift on the bar, but I just wasn't very comfortable with making all the drinks. I just haven't had enough hands on because I've been training more on day shifts then nights. So Pam decided to have me come in on Sunday night for a couple of hours of just making drinks.

Saturday night I watched a friend's daughter because she and her husband were both working, so she got us tickets to a show in Branson. It was wonderful, we went to the see The Duttons. That was a great show, the kids loved it and so did my mom. If you are ever in Branson, that is one that I would recommend.

Sunday was a really lazy day. I slept until after noon and then went to Open House at the school and took Samantha's school supplies in. She saw where her desk is and met the class pet, Dollar Joe the 18+ year old turtle. We stopped at the store and got stuff to make tacos. Made 'em, ate 'em, went to work.

When I got there, it was pretty slow, so I started making flash cards for recipes. Then it picked up and I was able to make some drinks, ok mostly I poured beer. Then it was time for the test 4 in 4. 4 drinks made in 4 minutes. I had to make a Strawberry daquiri, a chocolate martini, a Strawberry Summer Squeeze and a Grape Crush shot. I did it in 4min 30sec, but that's ok, Pam said I did really well. I finished the written test and called in to the training line and voila! I am a certified Applebee's bartender. WHOO HOO!!!!

I came home after that and climbed into bed and watched a little tv, but I didn't last long and I was snoozing. I did have some really strange dreams this morning before I got up. There was fire and puppies and traveling, and my Dad and Tammy Sue, but none of it really sticks in my mind now.

Today was a day off, so not much to talk about. I'm going to watch Hide and Seek with Dakota Fanning, so we can send it back to Netflix tomorrow. I think Samantha looks a lot like Dakota, so I try to see all of her movies. I Am Sam is one of my favorites. She is an amazing little actress.

Have a great night everyone and I will talk to you later. I have my first scheduled solo bartender shift tomorrow, so wish me luck and lots of tips.
